Cyotek CopyTools is designed to be simple to use, yet brimming with useful functionality, including many features "out of the box".
Choose from a variety of modes, such as copy, mirror, synchronise, compress to zip file, and more.
Multiple source and destination folders
Each profile can copy from multiple source folders. But you can also copy to multiple destination folders without having to create additional profiles. Useful for backing up onto both a local disk and remote network drive! You can also choose how the source path is combined with the destination - no combine, combine the full path, or combine only the last directory name in a path.
Every profile can be configured in numerous ways, such as the setting of individual flags to control the copy, for example creating an incremental backup over a full backup, preventing copying system or hidden files, or comparing files after they have been copied. You can even configure a profile to run when a external drive is plugged in!
Inclusion and exclusion masks
Only want to copy files of a particular type? Or perhaps you don't wish to copy certain files. CopyTools allows you to specify file and directory masks for inclusion or exclusion, or even configure global masks to apply to multiple profiles.
CopyTools allows you embed tokens in various places which will be expanded when the profile is executed. Common values are available, such as computer name, user name, and assorted date/time properties. Any environment variable can also be embedded.
Each action CopyTools performs is written to the log, along with any errors that occur during a copy.
You can display a preview of a profile - this will analyse your source and destination in exactly the same way as if you were about to perform a copy, but instead of copying the files it will display a preview of any actions that would be performed.
You can schedule profiles to run when Windows is shut down. CopyTools can also be configured to run shut-down profiles if CopyTools is exited independently of a shut-down, log off or restart.
However, it doesn't end there! Along with additional features not listed above, CopyTools is also extensible, allowing additional functionality to be included via add-ins.
